Although why they're calling it that I certainly don't know. They've only just started the first beam going 'round. There won't be a collision for another month or so.
I think it's pretty cool, myself.

Even when there is a collision they still won't "recreate" the big bang. They'll just release energy in amounts similar to moments just after the big bang.
So you don't hear any sucking noise over there?
